Refund and Returns Policy

At Design Fab Works, LLC, we stand behind the quality and craftsmanship of our custom powertrain swap controllers and fabrication components. Because our products are specialized equipment designed for custom builds, please review our specific policies regarding returns, warranties, and exchanges below.

1. Returns (Unwanted / Changed Mind)

If you decide you do not want an item you ordered, you must request a return within 15 days of the delivery date.

  • Condition: To be eligible for a return, the item must be completely unused, uninstalled, in its original packaging, and in 100% resalable condition.
  • Restocking Fee: All standard, non-defective returns are subject to a restocking fee.
  • Firm Cutoff: No returns for unwanted items will be accepted after 15 days from delivery.

2. Warranty Policy (Defective Items Only)

If a component fails due to a defect in materials or workmanship, it is covered under the following terms based on the manufacturer:

  • Design Fab Works Manufactured Products: We provide a one (1) year warranty from the date of purchase by the original end-user on all of our custom controller modules and wire harnesses.
  • Third-Party Parts & Accessories: Any parts or accessories sold on our site that are not manufactured directly by Design Fab Works carry a strict 30-day limited warranty against defects from the date of delivery. After 30 days, any third-party warranty claims must be handled directly through that item’s original manufacturer, if applicable.

What is Covered under the Design Fab Works Warranty:

  • All internal components and parts of the controller module or wire harness against failure due to manufacturing defects.

Warranty Exclusions:

Warranties do not cover:

  • Labor costs associated with installation, troubleshooting, or removal.
  • Damage to any other components of the vehicle, drivetrain, or electrical systems.
  • Failure due to improper installation, wiring modifications, reverse polarity, or water exposure.
  • Damage from accidents, neglect, abuse, or operating the component outside of recommended installation guidelines.

3. How to Start a Return or Warranty Claim

Before shipping any item back to us, you must obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. Unsolicited returns will not be processed.

  1. Request an RMA: Email us at info@designfab.works with your name, order number, proof of purchase, and a detailed description of the reason for the return or the defect.
  2. Package Safely: Once approved, securely package the product and clearly write your assigned RMA number on the outside of the box. Include your original invoice or receipt inside.
  3. Ship to Us: Ship the package to the fulfillment address provided by our support team.

4. Shipping Costs

  • Return Shipping: The customer is responsible for all shipping and handling charges associated with returning an unwanted product to Design Fab Works, LLC. Original shipping costs are non-refundable.
  • Warranty Replacements: If a product is inspected and found to be defective under our warranty terms, Design Fab Works, LLC will cover the ground shipping costs to send the repaired or replacement unit back to you.
